Who’s That Girl?
She is an Aquarius: Let The Sunshine In! But with Scorpio rising… keep the lights low. Yes.
After a Billy Cobham concert at Jassmine in Warsaw, she went up to thank him for the music and to ask, politely, for an autograph. They talked for a few minutes. She told him her dream was to make music that raises people's vibrations, and admitted that her very first vinyl record — and her whole fascination with jazz fusion — had started with Spectrum.
He looked at her for a long moment. Then he gave her The Name…wrote it on the cover of Tierra Del Fuego, and signed it underneath:
To Natalia — BERNADETTE.
Vocalist, music producer, songwriter, composer and multifaceted artist, whose work draws on formal music training, transcendent vocals, innate storytelling and contemporary electronic sound.
She came to jazz by way of Ella Fitzgerald. A mentor whose opinion she holds in high regard heard her sing and called her an Ella Lady. She would not dream of claiming it herself, but she has not forgotten it either…
Trained in classical piano at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski State Music School in Piotrków Trybunalski.
Her first song was called "Color The Way You Want It". She wrote it at Aston University in Birmingham, where she had joined the music society, sitting at the piano through long evenings while everyone else was out. It started from a simple chord progression and a story meant to lift whoever was listening.
During her Master's at Université Sorbonne Paris Nord she thrived in an interdisciplinary environment where music, painting, fashion and audio-visual performance naturally overlapped. At intimate gatherings, vernissages and gallery events she developed sets built on improvisation and atmospheric sound, shaping a style drawn from jazz, ambient, neo-soul, and cinematic textures.
Fascinated by sound design and synthesizers, she later earned certification in electronic music production- the tools to produce her own music and build the visual concepts that surround it.
She treats every song as a story with its own character and color. In KAPRYS music she composes, bringing a poet's soul, a producer's ear and a tender voice that moves between softness and strength to the duo's shared domain of uplifting musical enchantment.
